Shooting ISO 100 film in winter

Yesterday I uploaded another video to YouTube telling the story of a particularly difficult roll that I shot over the last few weeks, if not even months. I was a bit too optimistic for my own good and loaded ISO 100 film into my Leica in the middle of autumn which is when the weather here gets particularly dark and dismal. The weather forecast announced 10+ days of rain, but it seems I just didn’t want it to be true! I couldn’t have finished the roll on that day and no other bright days were in sight. Of course the rain lasted, autumn turned into winter and my Leica was virtually unusable because I had the wrong film in there. Oh well! I’ve also been trying to figure out why YouTube keeps murdering my video quality, although I’m using the optimal export settings for YouTube and it looks so much better before I upload. I asked around among other people who run YT channels and it seems as if the platform cuts down on costs by processing the videos by channels below 1K subscribers with a less processing heavy algorithm that leads to lower quality compression. I’m at around 385 subscribers right now, so I’ll probably have to put up with that low priority treatment for a while longer I’m afraid! A few weeks later I finally made an effort to get that ISO 100 film out of my Leica for good, because every time I wanted to shoot it was already dark and I had slow film in the only camera I use for night shooting! I headed out late on that day too, but somehow I managed to finish that roll anyway.
