It’s been a slow month photographically and I kind of miss the bustle of summer that would always provide me with some kind of photographic opportunity, but I guess it’s nice to slow down again too and not spend every day struggling to keep up with myself. Today I finished another roll and I keep taking my camera with me, but to be honest, nothing much is happening out there even at the times when the streets would be rather crowded in summer. There is more going on later in the day, but then the light is already gone too. Of course there are ways around all this, but at the moment I don’t feel like forcing it too much. I’m taking it easy after a lot of work and I think my health is thanking me for the break.
My encounter with the Russian language also continues at a slow but steady pace. Every time I think “Oh, this is quite difficult” it turns out that it’s even more difficult than I originally thought! The grammar of this language is clearly the work of the devil! And I guess it doesn’t really help that the book with which I’m working usually introduces 2 or 3 new intimidating grammatical concepts at the same time. Oh dear! And then of course there are all these strange words that all sound the same and can’t really be broken down very well for memorisation. Sounds like torture? Oh well, I guess everyone has their own kind of masochism at times. I actually quite enjoy learning languages, even beastly ones like Russian, but I much prefer the stage when language learning consists mainly of watching series or reading good books. However, before I reach that stage with my Russian I still have about 2000 words to memorise and 14 chapters of beastly grammar to get through!
But well, now for something completely different. Today’s pictures were taken with my waterproof Canon SureShot WP-1 and they’re purely visual in nature. You don’t see many pictures of this kind on my blog, but I do take them from time to time when I feel inspired.
