Today I wanted to shoot my last roll of Fomapan 400, but clearly it wasn’t meant to be. The leader ripped and the film never forwarded. This time I’m sure I checked that it was forwarding, but apparently it must have torn after a couple of frames rather than right at the beginning. In any case, I shot a ghost roll into oblivion. Luckily none of it was anything special, so I wasn’t too annoyed about it. After this happened to me twice and I was careful to check in the changing bag every time, next time this happens I’ll just open it up on the road. I definitely need to be more careful how I cut the leader when I’m bulk loading.

Due to my ghost roll I only took a roll of slide film in the Rollei today and I’m generally a little anxious about all of those slide films. I have no idea whether I’m actually metering them correctly, so it will be interesting to finally see some results. Obviously none of these rolls are important, I’m just testing, but there were a few shots over the course of this long experiment that I would really rather not have ruined. But then, I just have to be patient and see what comes of it. Experimentation is always risky business it seems.

My husband was joking that I was photographing every street corner of the city. Well, what can I do if they’re so photogenic?

Waiting for the bus. Its appearance is elusive and unpredictable.

One of those never-ending bus rides. This one probably wasn’t so bad or I would have started to take pictures out of the window out of boredom, but at times we spent two hours on the bus in rush hour. Within one city!

Quite liked these even though they are coloured. Shame about the roll being messed up. Of course love the doggy one and inside the book shop.

    • Hah thanks! When you like colour ones then that says something! I don’t really mind about the messed up roll. Basically I didn’t shoot it yet, only needed to clip the leader again. And I shoot so much a roll more or less rarely matters when I’m not travelling. Those pictures were just not meant to be …
