find the dog

Today when I pulled a roll of RPX400 I had just developed in Rodinal out of the tank I was a bit confused. I had developed it for 1 1/2h and the roll looked strange. Basically it looked nothing like a roll developed in Caffenol. After developing more than 100 rolls in Caffenol my old standard developer is starting to look strange to me! Who would have thought! By now I’ve pretty much developed almost all available ISO 400 emulsions in Caffenol and find it to be a very capable developer. The first roll I developed in Caffenol was probably about a year ago and since then I’ve learned a lot about it. I know what to expect now and I’m very happy with the results I’m getting. Nevertheless I want to experiment a bit more with some commercial developers as well to see the range of possibilities out there. I get bored easily, so I have to keep moving.

Reminds me of the movie Blow up. Just that there is a dog in this one too. The final version of this will have to be black and white. The colours really don’t do it for me.

I did find the dog in the first photo eventually, though it wasn’t easy! I agree, would be better black and white.
