These days I’m shooting fairly much because I don’t leave the house without a camera. It’s getting more summery around here now and so street photography is a little easier than in the winter. My stash of 35mm black and white film is quickly shrinking and since I have still quite a bit of 120, the next roll will probably happen with the Rollei. Maybe I’ll even take one of my ISO 200 E6 rolls so that I can get a step closer to developing them at some point. Only goes to show that I really have very little use for slow film with my style of shooting, especially in winter.

My experimentation goes on and I’ve been playing around with developing in colder temperature Caffenol. I’m not quite sure whether I really see any finer grain, but maybe it’s just good practice for the temperature control which will come in useful for handling the Xtol developer that I want to try soon. In any case, I definitely have figured out how to develop the Double-X best in my Caffenol-CL mix: 40-45min depending on the temperature. I’m also starting to get familiar with my new Paterson developing tank which allows me to develop 3 rolls of 35mm and 2 rolls of 120 at once. The lid is a bit stiff and full it’s obviously heavier, but it seems to leak less than my AP tanks.

This was screaming for the Rollei, but I only had the Leica on me. Well, like this you get to see some Double-X grain.
