Last year in November and December I spent almost every day shooting for two of my projects, Down Below and Memory. About two months I spent most of my time shooting without editing a single shot. You can imagine the kind of backlog I had created by the end of the year and it took me more than a month to catch up again. Right now I’m in a similar predicament since my laptop isn’t really up for the editing game. Although I edited some pictures yesterday it’s probably safe to assume that I shouldn’t do this every day judging by the sound of the fan of the laptop. This is obviously why I keep posting pictures precisely from the last period when I didn’t edit anything. Most of these pictures had been sitting in my archive unused because I was obviously shooting enough new stuff that I didn’t have to touch my archives at all. At least this way you get to see them! This time I’ll be careful not to let the backlog get too daunting though.

Two dates went by unnoticed by the way and I don’t want to have them pass without at least mentioning them: In April there was the anniversary of this blog and also the anniversary of my switch to the E-PL3 as my main camera, which were both important dates in the history of my work. These dates marked my complete commitment to street photography and I have indeed hardly shot anything else in the last year. It was a really fruitful decision that catapulted my work to a whole new level.

All pictures taken with: Olympus Pen E-PL3 and Panasonic Lumix 20mm f/1.7 ASPH.

That hand is sort of menacing.

The little one on the right was a bit cheeky and it seemed to me as if she was slightly afraid of the reaction of her mum.

They all have their attention somewhere else.

Well, if they spend time waiting they might as well smooch.

It would be a pity to leave them in the archive: 1, 2, 3, 5 and the last one (as I like it – room for imagination)
