At the bookshop in the Martin Gropius Bau they sell all sorts of small knickknack. I managed to catch this woman in the right moment. She then self-consciously put it back as if she felt ashamed of having been caught with a kids toy.

These guys were actually quite scary. I already heard them from across the street talking about guns loudly. When I took the picture I pretended for a long time to have waited to get them out of the picture. I didn’t really want to meet that dog up close.

Yesterday we went to an exhibition during the day. You might find this surprising, but it was actually an exhibition all about colour. I know, I know, I usually do the black and white thing, but I’m actually an open-minded person. I do enjoy colour in the work of others. I just prefer my street pictures to be black and white. The exhibition featured work by Itten and Klee, both of which had very elaborate colour theories and even influenced each other. Paul Klee is one of my favourite artists and I’ve even been to see a whole museum dedicated to him in Bern when I was younger. So, the exhibition in the Martin-Gropius-Bau was actually right up my alley, although it was about colour. I knew about Itten’s colour theory already as well, but I wasn’t that familiar with his work. I actually enjoyed it too. In fact I liked the exhibition so much that we decided to get the exhibition catalog. It’s a really nice print and has lots of colour theory in the front. This is something I will have to learn about sooner or later anyway.
And if this wasn’t enough in artistic engagement already, I also took quite a number of pictures yesterday. It all involved a bit too much walking for my liking – I still can’t walk that far after my surgery – but I sure had a great time anyway.

Once again good pictures! My wife and me visited the Klee Zentrum in Bern a few years ago. It was a great experience! The buildings themselves, bt Renzo Piano are interesting and we had a very artistic meal in the cafeteria (restaurant was too expensive for us!).
