Many times my experiments in photography are motivated by the question “what if?” It all started with the question: What if I were to shoot a picture a day for a year? What would happen to my photography then? After that came, what if I were to shoot with a film camera instead of digital? What if I were to use a 6×6 camera for street photography? What if I were to shoot only film for a year? What if I were to shoot in colour? Of course it’s hard to answer the questions even after going through with all these experiments. Something certainly happened each time I tackled another what-if and you can probably see the answers to these questions in some of my posts. To be honest, I dread the day when I will run out of what-ifs to follow down the next rabbit hole. But then, is there even the possibility of this ever happening?
All pictures taken with: Leica M6, Zeiss ZM C-Biogon 35mm f/2.8.
HP5+ developed in Caffenol-CH, Jobo CPE-2.
Both drinking.
Especially notice the no bikes sign in the background.
Made a new friend at a café.
This was a while ago, the building in the background is finished by now.
Curious about the headlines.
This was the only time the second hand shop on the corner next to the park was open. I walk past there quite often, but it’s always closed. We of course had to use the opportunity and go inside. It was so full, one could hardly turn in there. The guy also had a few cameras, but nothing I found too interesting. Since then a Yashica Mat 124 appeared in the window, but of course it can’t compete with my Rollei.
Now, that’s just weird …
Family resemblance.
I can’t resist a scene like that.
Hiding behind a bin?
Family resemblance.
Run!
Everyone busy with an apple.
Apparently this guy didn’t like being photographed. He immediately started to bark.
