on the corner

I could well call it a sign that I have just five 35mm negative sleeves left when I have another five rolls of C41 film to develop to reach the capacity of the chemicals. An opportune moment to take a few days break while I wait for the new sleeves. I’m right on track with all the processing and really don’t have to worry about falling behind now. After all who wants to go out on the street in 34°C weather anyway?

Today I’m going to show you a roll from our trip in April that rather convinced me of the capabilities of Portra 400. I already suspected that it would be the right emulsion for one of my projects, but now I’m actually certain. It does well both under- and overexposed and with a bit of practice I will get the hang of colour correcting it properly too. I’m still new to scanning 120 colour film, so these are early attempts, but I’m already quite happy with the results.

All pictures taken with: Rolleicord V, Schneider-Kreuznach Xenar 75mm f/3.5.
Portra 400 developed in Fuji C41 Kit, Jobo CPE-2.

f/3.5 and I waited for her shoes to be in focus. Portra sure did well here, it was already very dark and I was pushing the limits to finish off the roll!
