It is summer! I can’t quite believe it myself yet, but these days we have been having great weather and I have been making a point of either going for a walk along the beach or sitting in the sun every day. I have a tendency to rant about this town and all the rain, but when the weather is great it’s not so bad. For 3 or 4 months each year it’s even quite enjoyable to live at the sea. The rest of the year, not so much. The only thing that gets annoying is that at this time of year the streets are empty while the beach is like a tin of sardines, so it all becomes beach photography rather than street photography. This year I learned from this and got myself a cheap Canon SureShot WP-1, which can even get quite wet without suffering. I have only shot a couple of test rolls with it so far though, because I had my usual mishap again. One day I should really learn to take care of my toes when I’m walking barefoot! Every year the same procedure: As soon as the weather is warm enough to be barefoot all the time, I limp about for a while after having stubbed my toe somehow. As soon as it isn’t pure agony to walk on sand anymore, I’ll play more with that weather/waterproof Canon. The test rolls turned out as expected by the way. It definitely isn’t a Leica, but it isn’t bad either and I think I’ll have some fun with all the Kodak Gold 200 that I brought back from my last trip.
