After lots of idle talk I have finally made an effort and added some of my film stuff to my portfolio. Since I have been experimenting a lot, I’m still struggling to find the connecting dots. However, I think I’ve made some sense of it for now, even if only entitled ‘work in progress’. It’s also really a problem with street photography: Human behaviour is pretty random and so it’s difficult to make a coherent narrative out of it. I have some actual projects lined up though, so I will embark on less randomness soon I hope. Don’t get me wrong, I do love experiments and playing with new gear, film, developer, but it does get difficult when someone asks you “What are you working on at the moment”? Well, this and that, I suppose!
Even though all this exciting randomness might be doing my head in when I’m trying to work on my portfolio, still, let me tell you, I’m glad that I don’t live in my hometown anymore. How is that connected? Well, it always caused the most profound boredom in me and I have to say that shooting street there is really next to impossible. Whole stretches of the city are quite depopulated actually. No wonder then that I turn to urbex when I’m there, because it’s much easier to find abandoned buildings there than people. If I lived there then there I’d probably be shooting urbex all the time. Well, despite this, here a roll playing in the snow focusing on the few people that were out and about. Not much going on I have to say. Winter is the worst time for street photography, that’s for sure, and it’s even worse back in my hometown. And tomorrow? I guess more urbex! It’s the last set though, don’t worry.

Nice cap …!
My favourite shot of this batch. I have to say though that HP5+ doesn’t do snow so well. It looks somewhat dirty with that classic grain. Could it be that I found a use for T-grain? Well, no, since I’m actually trying to avoid snow. Brrrrr.
This probably would even look black and white if it was shot on colour film!
That’s dedication!
The Christmas tree.
Snow can be fun at any age! Well, it’s too cold for my liking though. I’m more of a warm climate sort of person.
