Despite the weather forecast it rained today and I didn’t get the opportunity to go out with my Rollei. I miss it though, so I decided to scan some older Rollei pictures. Tomorrow I might actually develop some 120 as well, because I’m a little tired of all that waiting that goes with stand-developing pushed film. Those 120 rolls were shot at box-speed. Since my ISO 1600 rolls yesterday were still a little thin with 90min development time, I went with 2h today and that worked better. I still have the feeling that pushing in Caffenol gives me less speed though, maybe because it’s generally a bit slower on the shadows. Maybe I’ll try a couple rolls in Rodinal to see how it compares. Kentmere 400 / RPX 400 isn’t really ISO 400 film anyway. In Caffenol 60 min is actually long – Tri-X is quite over-developed after the same time – and also in Rodinal I always develop it 10 minutes longer than any other ISO 400 film. It probably also needs a bit longer to push. I’m just not sure whether I’m patient enough to keep it in the soup for 2h. Maybe I should also experiment with changing the temperature to increase the speed of development.

For tomorrow I already scanned one of the thin rolls from yesterday, so you can look forward to some probably contrasty and grainy Kentmere 400 shots taken with Nancy.

All pictures taken with: Rolleicord V, Schneider-Kreuznach Xenar 75mm f/3.5.

Now that’s an appropriate tea pot.

I was setting that shot up for a while and waiting for something to balance it until the woman walked in. Not sure, but I think I quite like it like this.

If there is a mirror, I have to take a self-portrait … even if there are eerie mannequins in the foreground that get more eerie by being in an out of focus area!

I love that dog in the background and the motion blur!

The dog wasn’t interested in newspapers.

I really like the tonality in this one.

This could almost be called a panning shot, just with a very slow moving subject. In any case, only the man is actually sharp.

You should shoot with this camera more (as much as I like the XA 🙂 )

Indeed 🙂 It’s such a lovely camera! The plan is to shoot at least 50 rolls with it this year and I’m taking it out today for sure.
