the railroad © Lilly Schwartz 2012
I seem to be getting into a 2 day rhythm of taking pictures one day and editing them the next. Yesterday it was editing day. The weather is particularly annoying these days, so whenever I want to go out it almost immediately starts to rain as if the weather was trying to mock me.
I can say that with this picture I actually crashed Photoshop. After applying an Alien Skin black and white filter and overlaying two textures it just gave in and froze when resizing the picture. Luckily I had already saved the picture before and I didn’t have to do all the editing again. The shot was taken on the bridge above the S-Bahn station at Warschauer Straße. I mainly used the textures to give the sky some more interest. There were only a few blotches of darker clouds in the original picture and I thought some noise and crackle could help.
This is fabulous! I feel like I might reach out and touch it, feel the textures – worth the photoshop crash for sure!
Thanks mullberrywhine! I’m glad you like it! The textures really add to the picture I think 🙂
What a beautiful shot – love the composition and how you’ve toughened the image with processing. Great stuff.
Thanks Richard! Without the processing it was almost a bit boring, since it was the typical view from a bridge above the railroad. I’m glad that photo processing is so easy nowadays 🙂
Well done Lilly,I like how you added to the clouds. It adds just enough!
Thanks David! I’m glad you like it. It took me a while to get the balance just right.
So nice…
love the image, love the processing…
that rhythm is really working out for you, Ms. S…
awesome!
🙂
