There I was playing all day with Photoshop and my newest toy, Alien Skin Exposure, and suddenly it’s 23.43 and I still haven’t posted yesterday’s picture! Well, here it is. Obviously it’s no masterpiece. Not in any sense. It’s neither a good drawing nor a good picture, but I guess it demonstrates that sometimes it feels good to do something a little different for a change. At least it’s still creative. The connection to photography is also that it shows my Holga lens, which I have hardly used so far. I should really change that!
After editing and enjoying my playtime, it sure makes a difference to sit down and concentrate on the spot where the pencil hits the paper. I have been wanting to work on my drawing skills for years, but somehow I always have other things on my mind. In school I wasn’t even half bad (enough for my art teacher to encourage me to try out for art school), but by now I’m pretty useless at it. That’s what happens when you rarely ever pick up a pencil for years (or a pen for that matter).
I don’t know that I quite believe you when you say you haven’t done this for years, Ms. S!
You have such artistic gifts… but then, that’s pretty much just stating the obvious.

Thanks again for your kind words. No, definitely haven’t done this in years. I just used to draw quite a lot in school, so something must have stuck. Without the practice it’s all a bit grungy and slow though.
I like the idea to combine drawing and photographing…
