Most of my novel was conceived with pen and paper, but it was actually written with Scrivener. I tend to start writing, then realise I’ve forgotten something, then edit a few words here and there, then write a bit more at the end, maybe in the middle too and well, it’s a mess. This is obviously how I write scenes. The plot I develop linearly though and mostly write one scene after another in the way that they unfold in the book. The pen and paper approach is just for little notes, things I want to include, maybe a little scene or the main points of a scene in a short form without polish. I still have a few scenes to go. In fact, I say that every time I finish a scene, since I keep having ideas that make the story longer. Oh well, I will finish it eventually.
I can’t even jot down a simple paragraph without wearing down an eraser…
