Tuesday was the day before my mum came to help us move to our new flat. As a result we were packing quite a bit and so this picture came about. The rubber duck was a gift from Ezequiel. And since he has moved many times he also has quite some book packing skills. Would you believe that almost all of these books I somehow accumulated only in the half a year I have been living in Berlin? It’s strange how they sneak onto your shelves without you noticing and suddenly you have to think about how to get them down the four flights of stairs! Our new flat is not that far up luckily, so for now moving out was much more annoying than moving in.

Comments

  • Yes books and knick knacks multiply when we are not around!

  • Sounds like you guys are moving to a great place — hope it all goes well. Every so often I think that perhaps we should jump the Lewes ship and move to Berlin, although form what you say it’s really, really cold.

  • Yes the joys of moving books! One time I tried just bundling them in sets of like sizes and then wrapping them in brown paper and tying them up in string rather then putting them in boxes so it would be lighter (or so I thought – they still weighed the same! not sure what I was thinking) but it just made them more awkward. This time I just threw them all in boxes and it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be – good luck with your move!

  • Moving is always such a hassle…
I hope it goes as well as it possibly can, though!
