There is something to be said about taking pictures late at night. Sometimes it gives you good ideas and sometimes the only thing you can think about is finally going to sleep. I enjoy combining the two. Especially challenging is to relax your face while you’re holding up a relatively heavy camera. You see, without Señor Bunny I can’t sleep, so I thought it would be only fair to have him in the picture as well. He objected, but then he’s only a little bunny, what do I care? And don’t talk to me about bunny rights, I think he has quite a good life, lazing around in bed all day!
Yesterday I was especially tired after spending a considerable amount of time talking to estate agents. Since my contract in my current flat ends on the 15th of December Ezequiel and me are trying to find another flat here in Berlin. After looking for affordable flats in one of the “nicer” areas like Prenzlauer Berg and Kreuzberg I had to realise that “affordable” also means that the flats are gone as soon as they get on the market. Even where I live right now there seem to be almost no flats available. Finally I decided to broaden my search a bit and found that Wedding has quite a few bigger flats to affordable prices. It’s supposedly similar to Moabit and since I don’t mind a bit of an “international flair”, i.e. lots of Kebab shops and migrant backgrounds, it’s worth checking out. And instead of snobbish estate agents with only one viewing for a flat, like in Kreuzberg, Prenzlauer Berg or Mitte, you get people who actually call you back! In any case, I rather have a nice big flat in an area with lots of Kebab shops than a small shoddy flat in an area which is nicer, but also filled with organic supermarkets and young parents. Reminds me of an area in Brighton that some people call “muesli mountain”. Maybe such areas are a bit too “cool” for my taste anyway. We’ll see whether we can find a flat in the next two weeks or not, but for a change I’m quite optimistic about it.
oh this was a good one… (~_~)
Very nicely done, Ms. S…
and the best of luck with your search, too!
Good job, I bet that would be hard to do. No idea on the locations you are talking about, but looks like Germany to me 🙂
Great picture 🙂 I am looking most forward to exploring the rest of your blog!
Love the Neubauten tat – and I too am unable to sleep without Teddy Skins my teddy bear :-p
Beautiful.
