day 68: dead end

On Tuesday I went to dance tango at Clärchens Ballhaus here in Berlin. I hadn’t danced tango for quite a while, although I can’t quite figure out why. It was a combination of not feeling up for it and not feeling up to it at the same time. I think my whole effort of finishing my MSc has drained me considerably and the colder weather these days is not contributing positively to my health. I think tango will help me to get back to feeling a bit more normal. On Tuesday I danced for hours and I think I also have to be careful not to overdo it right away. I felt like going again today, but then decided against it, because my feet still hurt from last time.

The picture was taken after my driving lesson in one of my backyard expeditions. I’m not sure what is behind all the metal doors and bars. It definitely looked not very inviting.

  • Are you locked in or locked out? This time of year with its decrease in sunlight is a naturally “down time” and with you just completing such a great goal with your MSc, I think you just need to take time and breathe a bit. Tango sounds like a great way to get your blood circulating and give your mind a rest from all things intellectual while you’re doing it.

  • With all those bars and gates I’d say there is something quite valuable on the other side! Great B&W process!
