During my last trip to Germany I spent a really lovely afternoon with my friend Nils Karlson in Düsseldorf. He is a fellow photographer who does wonderful landscape work and like me he is a member of the Film Shooters Collective. The day we met up, we decided to go to an exhibition together. Since I had my GoPro rig on me we decided to film a really casual impromptu interview afterwards which was really just us hanging out, talking about life, finding meaning in photography and why art should be affordable for everyone. The filming conditions weren’t ideal, no tripod, it was blisteringly hot, and the only spot in the shade had plenty of background noise and cars passing constantly. It somehow works quite well with the topics we were discussing though and it almost feels like unintentional industrial background music! And somehow we avoided bursting into flame too, which is definitely a plus. In any case, I had a really lovely time with Nils and I think the video turned out rather lovely in the end! If you’re interested you can see the video here:
By the way, I didn’t shoot many pictures that day and since I didn’t want to distract from the interview in the video itself I decided to just share them here instead: Bonus shots, so to speak!
All pictures taken with: Leica M6, Zeiss ZM C-Biogon 35mm f/2.8, HP5+.
That lady with the bike was apparently fascinating!
Wild architecture around there!
Can’t resist reflections!
