Would you believe that I’m actually up to date with my scanning?! I was so disconcerted by the fact that I didn’t need to scan anything anymore that I developed another roll of 120 just so that I didn’t have to deal with the missing stack of negatives next to my scanners! And if you think that my (almost) empty scanning queue means I can put my feet up, forget it, none of that! I still have 17 rolls of film to develop (and scan, phew). And of course there is also all the editing and dust-spotting still to be done. I will try to get that done as well before we travel, so that I only have to deal with posting when we’re in Argentina. And when we come back I might just need a couple of months to catch up on everything I bring back! However, for now Paco has already revolutionised my workflow, since for the first time in months it seems I have a chance of catching up with myself!

For some reason I really like this one! It actually isn’t a Pakon scan by the way. The Pakon crops a little bit and with this one the framing was rather tight. Hardly ever happens that I need to rescan something for that reason, but it did happen with this. My verdict from the side by side comparison: The Epson scan was rather flat, but had slightly more even tonality, there was more highlight resolution, mainly because I still scanned this one on the Pakon with contrast on 100%, slightly more negative real estate, but the Epson is way less sharp and sloooow. For the odd scan where I need the full uncropped negative it might be worth it, but other than that I’m quite happy with what Paco is doing.

He looks so determined! Not sure what he was up to!
I love that hand on the left! It really makes this one work, I think.
