buy yourself happiness

Today I took a bit of a break and didn’t take any pictures. After so many rolls and walking around in all kinds of horrible weather the last few days, it wasn’t so bad not to be out shooting in the cold. This didn’t save me from the usual kind of Christmas horror of running errands in a way too crowded mall though, which I knew would make me too nervous to even take pictures of it!

I noticed that most of the rolls I scanned lately were colour. I must have been curious about my results from the development! So far all of my colour development efforts turned out nicely and I only had problems colour correcting one roll of Ektar where there just weren’t any neutral points in the pictures – and even there I managed in the end. In these city shots colour correction was rather easy actually, so it’s not the Ektar but the nature shots of the last roll that caused trouble. I have to say that I really like the Ektar here. I rarely shoot ISO 100 film, but I guess for colour it’s really worth it!

My colour curiosity means that the next few days you’ll see some more colour shots here. Don’t worry, the novelty will subside and there will be more of a balance between colour and black and white.

The translation of the sign on the right is roughly “Buy yourself happiness”. Although these pictures were taken in summer, they perfectly fit the Christmas season.

A little bit of a touristy shot, but I was curious how it would look on colour film!
