At the end of August I had to go to Germany to sort through some of my stuff that I left behind at my dad’s place when I left the country many years ago. My parents are moving at the moment, so I had to get rid of a lot of stuff. It was sort of strange, since I still feel like the area where my Dad used to live is the closest thing I ever had to a proper home. I lived in that area for 6 years and have now been away from there for more than double that time, but still, it remains “home”, somehow. So, my dad moving away from there marked somewhat of an endpoint for me. I still have lots of friends in the area, but I can’t really say that I still have a proper place there anymore. Strange that! It also means that I have no stuff left at my parents’ place anymore, it’s all here with me now! In any case, I decided to vlog the trip! The video is a travel vlog of the first part of the trip including quite a lot of GoPro POV footage from when I was shooting street during my trip!
If you want to look at the pictures longer then scroll down here. I added a couple of extra ones that didn’t fit the flow of the video or weren’t suitable for YouTube. I hope you enjoy them! By the way, these were just the first 4 rolls of the trip, so there will be more videos and pictures coming! Are you as amazed as I am at seeing pictures from this year on my blog? Well, as a matter of fact, I am almost done developing and editing my whole backlog! There are still 4 rolls of colour left to edit and two tanks of bw to develop, but I’m so close now! Truly the end of an era.
All pictures taken with: Leica M6, Zeiss ZM C-Biogon 35mm f/2.8, Voigtländer Nokton 35mm f/1.2.

This one made my bw spidey sense tingle.
These electric scooters are a menace, was almost run over by them gazillions of times.
Better move on quick before anyone recognises me!
Someone forgot to rewind the film before opening the back … oof! Luckily not a complete loss!
So glad I managed to save this one!
This is so typical.
Can’t ever resist a scene like this.
Obligatory dog picture.
He was watching …
This! They were proclaiming solidarity with the children and their climate strike. It of course had nothing to do with promoting their organic farm. Nothing at all.
What an outfit! Sadly the picture where he had his eyes open got lost when I opened the back without rewinding. He would not open his eyes for me again.
I especially like his rings!
Yeah, I cropped that to 4×5 ratio to cut down on clutter. I love that format!
Urban jungle.
This was in August and it was excessively hot. Mini swimming pool to the rescue.
Ah, black and white!
Caught the spiderman unmasked 😮
These guys were from the North of England and asked whether I was a Russian spy! Soviet of course, but close enough!
“Quiet, order, cleanliness”. So German I had to take a picture of it.
Also very Düsseldorf.

Exactly how I feel about shopping.
I can never resist this shot.
And then I made a new friend.
I’m careful around cats I don’t know, but this one let me get very close.
