If you ever wanted to know why I spent so much energy on perfecting my strategies for pushing film, then this series is probably the answer. With an f/2.8 lens it would have been impossible to shoot these at ISO 400. Even with ISO 1600 I was at the very limit, handheld 1/15 for most of these and quite a number had motion blur, because people tend to get quite expressive when singing tangos. I’m very glad that we managed to convince the police officers at the airport to not scan these rolls, because these shots would have been ruined for sure. It would have been a real shame!
One more thing: Lots of people seem to think that concert stuff is pretty impossible on film. Sorry folks, you’re wrong! Even with a 2.8 lens and only available light these turned out great!
