When I look at the date and at my day count I realise that it’s already the last month of my 365 days challenge. I’m already planning how to take my blog to the next level when I’m done with my project and I already have a list of things I would like to change. Generally I’m happy with how the project is going although I have come to realise that I want to change the way I post my pictures.

First of all, for the last month I have decided that I’m only going to take pictures when I actually feel inspired to go out and shoot. On other days I will just look for pictures in the archives and post pictures I have edited on that day. I think what inspired this change is that I looked back at the pictures of the last year and realised that I found quite many of them mediocre and quite boring, just because I didn’t feel like going out into the rain / cold or I was busy with other projects, like my novel. Considering how many nice pictures I have in my archives by now it’s silly to post boring pictures. Sure, a picture a day means that you should actively try to get a picture every day, but I think it’s perfectly alright if you make a picture instead of taking one.

The other change that I would want to make is that I would like to post more than one picture a day at times. It’s sometimes hard to choose the best picture — especially if you went out shooting for a few hours — but the best 3 or 4 are perfectly doable. For this I will need a different blog theme, because I don’t want to write a new post for every picture and my theme is more geared to showing off one single picture per post. For the second change I will wait until the project is over though.

Yesterday it again started raining just when I wanted to go out of the house. Very annoying! At least I felt like putting my Holga lens on my Canon and shooting out of the window, since there is a nice chestnut tree outside. It was windy, the branches were going this way and that, and although it’s not a sharp picture, it had some atmosphere. However, I felt like pushing it a bit further. In Photoshop I put some textures over it and worked the vignetting over. Since I wanted a bit more softness and muted colours I also blended some more layers into it. I’m quite happy about how it turned out.
