snow in Berlin © Lilly Schwartz 2012
Now you can see what mostly kept me inside for the last few days since I took this picture. I was in the city when it started to snow and I was surprised since I was down in the subway when it began. I was down there barely 10 minutes and already the ground was covered as if the snow had been lying there all along. Not what I had in mind when I left the house, but still better than rain. Since then it has been getting colder and colder with temperatures around -14°C this morning. Although I felt like going to tango a couple of times, I didn’t feel like waiting out in that kind of bitter cold in the middle of the night, so these days I’ve been mainly focusing on staying at home reading. I only left the house to buy groceries and didn’t take my camera with me then, since it was hard enough to keep my hands from going blue even with my hands in the coat pockets. However, in the end having some crispy cold temperatures isn’t so bad … at least when you have a well insulated flat with a good heating and you don’t actually have to go out there much! One of these days I want to go into one of the parks to take some pictures of the snow, but I’m waiting for the temperatures to be a little more bearable.
I love it! and I like very much the title that you chose for your shot! so smart! cheers!
beautiful shot Lilly.
Nicely done Lilly!!!
I always find it a challenge to venture out in the cold, but with results like these I’m sure happy you were able to overcome the climactic chill!
Really interesting shot. Like the look of it.
Great shot.
Great subtle shot.
Excellent composition. Had to smile at the mention of -14 degrees. Here in Northern Ontario (Canada), it has been unusually mild most of the winter and your cold temperature should be part of our normal for this time of the year. Can we say climate change, ….. even if our present Prime Minister and Conservative Party don’t believe ?
