On Monday I went out for a bit of shopping in the mall at Schönhauser Allee. There is an S-Bahn that goes right there in only 10 minutes and I thought it would be a good idea to take pictures on the way. So, instead of gritty subway pictures today it’s a picture of a train station of the Ring Bahn. What I found interesting about this picture it not only that it gives you an insight into what a typical S-Bahn station looks around here, but that there is a detail that I spotted right away, but might not get noticed if you just have a quick look at the picture. It’s the mug sitting on the metal bar above the whole scene. Some street art is in impossible spots on houses and you wonder how they got there. This mug is similar. I can’t see how anyone could have reached up there and throwing the mug to get stuck between the spikes in such a natural position seems impossible too. I wonder how long it has been sitting there and how long it will stay up there. After all they would have to pay someone to climb up there and retrieve it. It might be there forever …
Please, update when it will be removed! You made me curious! I like this photo because it has a perfect geometry, there are may signs in it and the human presence seems somehow casual. But the mug adds something which transforms a good photo in an excellent one !

I think the pigeons lowered it down in order to tackle those anti-pigeon spikes.
You’ve a keen eye
didn’t notice the mug till you mentioned it! 😀

I like how the mug has so much light on it yet your eye is drawn to the folks at the station. I never would have noticed the mug had you not mentioned it. NIce shot Lilly!
I’m SO curious, now, too! What a great find, Ms. S!
🙂
Someone must’ve been skilled at climbing to place this mug.
