Yesterday after my driving lesson I took my tango shoes to the cobblers in Calvinstraße. The heels needed some repairing and I think the shoemaker also found a way to solve the problem with the arch support. It’s a temporary solution until I can get some tango shoes that actually fit. They will probably have to be custom made which, as a friend told me, isn’t that expensive in Argentina.
Across the bridge over the river spree at the end of Calvinstraße there is the S-Bahn station Bellevue where I took this picture. The train runs on top of a structure with archways every few meters. In some places there still are shops in these archways, but at Bellevue the ones that had shops in them are all abandoned now. Some of them are still in use, but it’s not exactly clear for what. I took my time with my camera there, shooting manually, and then I walked back home crossing the next bridge that leads to Kirchstraße where I turned left into the area surrounding the Ministry of the Interior. By now I know almost all the streets around here. Maybe it’s good that I’ll have to move next month. Quite likely I need a new neighbourhood to explore soon.
Great photograph. Love the red brick arch, but also that you’ve just captured the edges of it and not the entire arch.

And you tango. How I would love to learn to tango – my husband is not the most cooperative.
