Despite all the various things I did today – language school and a tango lesson foremost – I somehow managed to edit a bunch of pictures and even more importantly, I finally finished the interview with my friend Almut for She Shoots Film. Feel free to check out her great street pictures from Detroit and read what it is like to shoot in a place like that!
Today I’m showing you some pictures from last year taken on Double-X. These were actually too dense, because I didn’t yet know that semi-stand in Caffenol works better for Eastman/Kodak stuff. I really wanted to scan this roll though, because I’m about to start a 100ft roll of Double-X and I’m very much looking forward to it. I really like how it looks and I think I’ll have lots of fun with it! Just imagine it with a little less highlight mush and you’ll see the potential.
Other than that I’m actually making an effort to shoot less, because I really need to catch up at least a little. The month is almost over and I’m still in the middle of last year’s pictures. About time that I moved on to some more recent stuff! You know, I’m not really succeeding much with shooting less though … it has to do with the wonderful feel of the film forwarding lever of Nancy (my Leica). It just feels so nice to forward the film, that I want to shoot and shoot and shoot.
