All pictures taken with: Olympus Pen E-PL3 and Panasonic Lumix 20mm f/1.7 ASPH.

I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and hope that you’re enjoying the day!

I am currently spending time with my family in Chemnitz and the other day we went to the Christmas market here in Chemnitz. To celebrate the day I decided to skip ahead in the editing queue and show you some Christmas related pictures. Christmas markets usually are the place to get sweet, greasy or otherwise unhealthy food and drink yourself merry with mulled wine, hot honey-wine or beer. Well, all of that is not for me, so taking pictures is my reason to go there and I sure had a lot of good picture opportunities that day.

Speaking of photography: Christmas has been good to me and brought me a new lens for my Olympus – Panasonic Lumix 14mm f/2.5 ASPH -, a really nice bag for my gear and a book on soviet nude photography. I already tried both the bag and the lens on my last outing to shoot pictures for my Memory project today and I’m very happy with both of them! The bag is really great and I’m also looking forward to trying some wide-angle street photography! As for the Memory project, the shooting part of the project is now finished and I will be editing the pictures after I have developed and scanned the remaining 5 rolls.

In the editing queue there are a couple more visits to the Christmas market as well – one in Dresden, and another time in Chemnitz, so there will be a couple more posts on Christmas markets coming fairly soon to get the seasonal pictures out of the way. Since I’m way behind on my editing I should probably get them done before the rest or else I might end up posting Christmas pictures in February …!

  • Really neat. Cool lens. Close in! Nice. All ice here, north of Bangor, Maine. You’d love the scene aesthetically with 150,000 w/o power and ice encasing everything. A very Merry Christmas. (I write from a hotel, five days no electric.)

Thanks liramusic. Wow, power outage because of the cold? That’s tough! Here we have spring temperatures and it’s really unseasonably warm. I love it. I’m hoping to skip the winter altogether. Hope you get power soon.

  • Great series! I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas…and all the best for the New Year!!!
