After a walk in Palermo and getting a wonderful book of Annemarie Heinrich’s work yesterday, we decided to go to the enchanting little bar in Barracas again to dance a few tangos and listen to some music. This time I took my Leica as well and shot a couple of rolls of RPX400 that I threw into the bag just in case. It was a bit difficult with the light at f/2.8, even shooting at ISO 1600. Before long I might need a faster lens actually and this was especially noticeable around here where I was mostly stuck at ISO 400. With these 2 rolls I will risk the 1600 because I wasn’t planning on shooting them in the first place, but I didn’t want to risk ruining the whole bunch by pushing them freely. After the tango we also got a chance to see La Boca and the Caminito at night and I even saw a bit of the real harbour. However, I didn’t take any pictures because I didn’t have any more film on me.

And with this the picture taking didn’t end: Today we went to the Feria de Mataderos which is normally on Sundays. It was today instead because of the elections tomorrow. I shot a roll with the Leica and one with the Rollei, which actually happened to be my 50th roll of this trip. I still have 3 more rolls left and wouldn’t be surprised if I finish them off as well. We actually have one full day left tomorrow and then fly back on Monday evening – volcanic ash permitting of course. (Of course, secretly I wouldn’t really mind being stuck here in this wonderful city a few days longer.)

All pictures taken with: Leica M6 + Zeiss ZM C-Biogon 35mm f/2.8.

Hanging out in one of my favourite bars. They have wonderful ginger and orange tea. A little dark for f/2.8 though.

This one turned out more balanced.
