Before the Dia De Los Reyes around here there is always a parade with floats, dressed up youths and animals. The kids gleefully go diving after the sweets that are thrown from the floats as if they never get any sweets at home. So, since I was anticipating crowds and bad lighting I actually took out Nancy instead of the Rollei. At some point a man noticed my husband’s camera, a Fuji x100s and asked whether it was a Leica. Ironically I was the one with the Leica though and that one he didn’t recognise.

I also developed some more film today, this time pushed in Caffenol. I haven’t pushed in Caffenol before so I might actually scan some of that tomorrow to see how they turned out and whether I should go with Rodinal instead. I’m really curious! Still, I didn’t really make any real progress on the development front today, since I shot 3 rolls and only developed 2. And also tomorrow I probably won’t make too much progress, since I’m planning to shoot at least one roll of medium format and probably some 35mm in the XA. I need a bigger developing tank!

The pictures I show you today are from a roll taken in the summer before we moved. Somehow I was in the mood for shooting some colour street and then the roll was lying around until I started developing my own C41. These are actually only half the shots from this roll. The rest I keep for my next trip, since I will be too busy to scan or post-process anything then.

All pictures taken with: Olympus XA, F.Zuiko 35mm f/2.8.
Portra 400 developed in Tetenal Colortec C41 Kit.

Probably after a fall, since he was aligning the front wheel.

I took a very similar shot when I started shooting film. This one is much sharper!
