As always, if you have questions, objections, worries or praise, and especially if you found your picture and want it removed, feel free to contact me. I will get back to you as soon as possible. You can also read my full disclaimer, if you are interested.

Yesterday I finally concluded a to-do item that is probably two years old. I wanted to display the blog posts in a different way on the general blog page so that they are easier to browse. Instead of having to scroll for ages to find a post, it now shows the posts as tiles. This way it’s easier to get a glimpse of what I’ve been up to for the last few weeks instead of having to scroll for ages. I also changed the standard display size of the pictures in posts. From now on I’ll post them a little smaller so that it looks a little cleaner on smaller screens, but you can see them in a fancy lightbox at the previous size if you click on them. It obviously took a lot of swearing to get it all to work, especially since the plugin I use for the tiles is rather badly documented and so is the lightbox plugin. Also, did you know that PHP is infuriating …? In the end I defeated the beast though and now it’s exactly how I wanted it.

Before making the changes I was actually considering an entirely new theme, but after having a look around I realised that most of the new themes out there are way too fancy for my liking. And I certainly didn’t want an animation heavy monster that I can’t keep open because it eats all the memory of my machine. Besides, all those fancy animations just distract from the part that is really important: the content. Speaking of content. I also used the opportunity to update my portfolio a little and in the next few days I will work on updating the projects. Lots of work, but I think it was worth it.

Today I show you some pictures that I took on my last trip. Whenever I get the opportunity I like to explore abandoned places and trips to East Germany are obviously perfect for this. I used to take mainly pictures like this, but where I live now it’s difficult to even find such places. So, I mostly take pictures of people instead.

All pictures taken with: Leica M6, Zeiss ZM C-Biogon 35mm f/2.8.
