God knows why I decided to shoot at 1/250 that day. Oh wait, I know: I forgot to check the settings before heading out *facepalm*. Slight shake on the guy.

If you let people get off the tram before you stand in front of the door you don’t get photographed. It’s as simple as that. Muppets!

A bakery window. Dresden is famous for its Christmas Stollen.

I pretended that she walked into my boring fountain picture. Always a good excuse since everyone takes boring pictures of fountains on city trips! Well, she definitely made my fountain shot more interesting.

That was actually an archeological dig. I think they want to build another hotel on top of it or some such thing.

Not quite sure about the Mathematisch Physikalischer Salon? I actually liked it a lot. Maybe I post some pictures at some point.

All pictures taken with: Olympus Pen E-PL3 and Panasonic 20mm f/1.7 ASPH.

Tomorrow we’re going on a little trip to Bilbao until Tuesday. When we called the landlord of our holiday flat she told us that we might not get fresh fish if we arrive in the afternoon. Oh, how horrible! First world problems for sure. The plan for Bilbao is to visit the Guggenheim Museum, explore the town a bit and take some pictures. The date for our journey is no coincidence by the way. The día de San Sebastián (the day of San Sebastian) is on the 20th and the celebrations involve a whole night of drumming. Apparently it’s such a racket that there is no sleep to be had. Well, we neither like noise nor sleepless nights, so it was a good opportunity to escape to Bilbao for a few days. Bilbao is on my looooong list of places to visit just like Dresden was. One down, a hundred to go. Or something like that, since I haven’t actually counted them.

As you can see from the pictures, we actually stuck to the touristy bits of Dresden. Next time I go to Dresden I want to go for a little while longer and explore some of the less touristy areas for street pictures. Although I got a few good ones even in the touristy part, I know that Dresden also has quite a gritty side to it. My brother’s first flat in Dresden was in a really awful street. When I came to visit him once we walked past a dog fight outside a really rotten corner pub. It would have made an awesome picture and that’s probably why I remember it so vividly. Obviously those areas are much more interesting for street photography.

By the way, I’m not taking my laptop to Bilbao, but I’ll schedule some posts anyway. You can expect some more pictures from Dresden and a few from Berlin.
