the shocked baby

Yesterday I finally managed to repair my MacBook Pro by replacing the fan. The old fan had been making all sorts of strange noises and occasionally it wouldn’t want to start up at all. Disassembling and cleaning it made no difference, so replacing it was really the only option. I got the replacement part at my usual repair shop DTPdirekt in Düsseldorf. They are usually very fast and reliable and have never given me any problems over the many years that I’ve been their customer. This time they were especially understanding and sold me the replacement part without insisting on performing the repair themselves. That’s what I call service! The replacement itself is so simple that it would have been ridiculous to have to pay a certified repair technician just for loosening a bunch of screws. It took me less than 5 minutes to do it myself.

Now that my technical problems have been solved I could finally edit some pictures again. This time I was rather good and didn’t accumulate lots of editing work. I personally don’t much like editing – I find it boring and monotonous – and so having to do lots of editing to catch up would have seriously dampened my motivation to go out shooting. As it stands, there are now just 3 days worth of digital pictures and the scans of 2 rolls of film among the most recent pictures in the editing queue, so that I won’t even need to make a specific effort to catch up.

All pictures taken with: Olympus Pen E-PL3 and Panasonic Lumix 20mm f/1.7 ASPH.

Kid wanting to cuddle. How cute is that? And how sad that she’s distracted with her phone.

Architecture students were hogging every bit of the sidewalk and making it a bit difficult to pass. She was very grumpy as well.

El Peine del Viento with sculptures of Chillida at the far end of the beach Ondarreta. This place offers lots of opportunity to get very wet on windy days.
