the broom

Today I didn’t have much time editing, but I went out shooting with the Isolette at the Kurfürstendamm here in Berlin. I’m sure looking forward to seeing the pictures once I get around to developing them. Maybe I got the focus right this time. In any case, the Isolette was a great conversation starter with a fellow photographer, who happens to shoot a Leica. We ended up spontaneously going shooting together and stopped by a second hand camera shop around the corner. Fate definitely was on my side there, because I had been investigating the Olympus XA a few days before and I actually found one in the shop at a real bargain. It was about a third of the price it was going for on the internet, so I was very lucky. Everything seems to be in working order so far and I’m looking forward to trying it out one of these days. It’s about the size of my Pen, but unlike the film Pens it’s full-frame. Since it has a very nifty lens design with a sliding door it actually seems even smaller. With the small size, the leaf shutter, aperture priority automatics and a supposedly excellent 35mm f/2.8 lens it should be a nice street camera.

All pictures taken with: Olympus Pen E-PL3 and Panasonic Lumix 20mm f/1.7 ASPH.

I think there was a little jumping ball involved, but it was hard to see.
