strange gifts

Today I took my Zorki out for a spin for the very first time since I got my Olympus XA in the summer. It was a strange experience – after shooting so much with it in the last year I still feel very familiar with it, but at the same time the loud shutter really startled me. In comparison to the big clank of the Zorki shutter the XA and the Rolleicord are really really quiet.

By now I have finished all 35mm rolls of the Rollei RPX 400 I bought on my travels. The emulsion truly looks like Kentmere 400, but somehow I suspect that the base might be a little different. It did curl slightly more when hanging it and it’s not quite as flat in the sleeves as I’m used to from K400. I still haven’t scanned any of it, because I’m still busy developing, but somehow I have the feeling that it won’t have any surprises for me in store anyway.

All pictures taken with: Olympus Pen E-PL3 and Panasonic Lumix 20mm f/1.7 ASPH.

Nope, I don’t understand what’s going on there either. What’s with the ball and why do they need the crane? The only unsurprising bit is the peacock, since they always roam that park.

This is actually on the graveyard. It has such a surreal quality to it.

What a weird looking dog! I’d feel uncomfortable reading my paper next to it.

Normally I don’t do the people-with-mobile-phones thing, but she was so pretty!

  • Terrific effort .. very hard work … lots of walking, mental concentration, and hair trigger reflexes … very good eye for the bizarre and surreal … love your E-PL3 and 20mm f1.7 Lumix shots. Man carrying his little dog, 3rd last shot, simply wonderful !
