road trip

Nancy, my new Leica, has definitely brought me quite some photographic bliss over the last week. The ease of shooting with it and the haptic feedback is really rather enjoyable and I’m sure I’ll have lots and lots of fun with this camera. After so much anticipation culminating in the lengthy wait after actually buying it, I definitely feel that it was worth it even for the feel of shooting this camera. If the pictures are even half as good as the ones I get from my little XA, this would already be photographic heaven, but I’m expecting much more from my new Zeiss lens, especially wide open. I can’t wait to see the pictures in full resolution!

Another couple of rolls went through Nancy, today after taking a break yesterday. I shot these at ISO 1600 when we went for a little walk over the Christmas market. This will be the first time that I push a colour roll by two stops, so I’m definitely curious about the results. Funny that just before it’s too late I make good on one of my goals for this year, namely gathering more experience with pushed film. I’ve pushed quite a number of rolls to 800 and a few to 1600 and 3200 before, but not as many as to be sure what to expect. I definitely have to have these rolls hand-checked when flying back or I’ll have too much fog on them. I definitely won’t be developing much more film here, because it’s rather inconvenient to be loading the film without a changing bag.

All pictures taken with: Olympus XA, F.Zuiko 35mm f/2.8.
Kodak Ektar 100 developed in Tetenal Colortec C41 Kit.

“Not every cow can be milked”, it says on the right. And I like the motion blur of the wheel on the left.

I think the canoe makes the picture. It’s actually the office of a vet and it looks like they even take care of horses …!

Thanks Harry 🙂 I was a bit surprised. I took a colour street picture that I actually like for the colour! That’s new!
