This morning it was snowing and snowing and snowing. So much that we even considered building a snowman! However, it was just too cold and we didn’t have any good gloves for that sort of endeavour. Instead we went out to take some snow pictures and to buy some colour film at the dm. Apparently I can’t count – I wanted 10 rolls and came back with 11. I guess my subconscious is trying to tell me something. I also shot a roll of HP5+ that my friend Almut gave me the other day and I’ll be very curious to see what will come of it and how the metering in the M6 will handle the snow. I will try to stand-develop that roll in Caffenol, since I’ve never tried HP5+ in that developer, but did plenty of it in Rodinal. And amazingly, even my packet of RPX400 seems to have re-appeared. The tracking now states that it will arrive tomorrow – only 7 days late according to the original announcement. By tomorrow I will have plenty of film and I hope to get to shoot some more snow before it all melts.

I also went through the last of my digital shots for this year and have decided to give the E-PL3 as little work as possible next year. Yes, the E-PL has given me lots of great shots, but in the end I prefer to have skill go into my pictures rather than spray and pray + a dose of luck because of bad autofocus. And of course Nancy (my Leica) handles much more nicely than the E-PL, that’s a no-brainer. Nancy is such a joy to shoot, I keep blazing through the rolls. I’m also so curious about the results now that I spent quite a bit of time today looking at shots from other people’s Zeiss C Biogon 35mm f/2.8. Ah, I can’t wait, to see scans from my own rolls!

All pictures taken with: Olympus XA, F.Zuiko 35mm f/2.8.

I can’t remember what that was all about. In any case, it was very fascinating for the little one.

I find the swiss army knife very confusing. Why?!

One doesn’t see that very often in town.

It was getting a bit too dark, but I like the motion blur.
