Last night there was a particularly pagan festival around here where kids jump over fires down at the beach. Last year I shot some pictures with my Zorki 4K and it was difficult, because the rangefinder is too faint to see anything at night. Also, the shutter speeds aren’t accurate on the beast and I didn’t have a light meter either. It was pure guesswork, really. This year I shot a couple of rolls of T-Max 400 pushed to 1600 with the Leica and it was much more enjoyable to shoot. I’m really curious how they turned out, but I decided to wait and develop some colour instead. I shot a test roll with lots of sky at the beach to see whether my new agitation regime works any better and the rolls turned out nicely this time. If the next beach roll turns out like that again I might finally try to develop the cine film that I shot in Barcelona last month. I didn’t want to risk ruining those rolls while I was still having problems with the C41 chemicals. Speaking of cine film, in the batch developed today there was also a Cinestill 800T roll and I’m sure curious about that one! The other roll that I shot in Dresden turned out really great and if my other cine film experiments work then I will try to get some of the original Kodak Vision 3 500T to make shooting this stuff a little more affordable.
