best friends

Even though with digital I don’t need to scan the pictures or remove dust from them, editing still takes a considerable amount of time, mainly because I need to do the selection among many more pictures. Often I come back with 200-300 pictures when I go out with my digital camera and most of it basically can be deleted right away. To speed up the selection process I now figured out that I can work quickly in the Library mode of Lightroom if I render Standard Sized Previews for the entire folder beforehand. This way I already save a lot of time, because I don’t have to wait for the standard preview to be rendered when I open each picture. I also now batch convert my pictures to black and white with Alien Skin Exposure after finally realising that I can still individually change the colour sensitivity when I process all the pictures in one go. This change means that I don’t need to load Alien Skin anew for every single picture I convert.

All pictures taken with: Olympus Pen E-PL3 and Panasonic Lumix 20mm f/1.7 ASPH.

She didn’t have the chops yet and was trying to learn. I’m useless at stuff like that myself.
