These pictures were taken a couple of days ago in San Sebastian to celebrate that it wasn’t raining for a change. I felt a little rusty after having had a few weeks of not taking many pictures. Winter just isn’t any good for street photography.

All pictures taken with: Olympus Pen E-PL3 and Panasonic Lumix 20mm f/1.7 ASPH.

I don’t read the newspaper myself. After majoring in Media Studies at university I lost all trust.

Is it me or does this dog have too much skin? And what’s with the helmet?

Looks like the dog smelled food.

I like how the guy is pointing in the opposite direction of the arrow. I guess this is one of those moments when Capa’s statement of getting closer doesn’t quite work, since the hand is not in the picture. Couldn’t be helped though, very busy corner.

The guy walking through in the middle was so distracted that he had to jump out of the way a couple seconds after I took this picture because the guy with the camera stepped into his path.

I have been silent for a while, which mostly had to do with the terrible weather. I just didn’t feel like going out into the incessant rain to get more umbrella shots. Now finally the weather improved and we already had 3 days of brilliant sunshine. The good weather will apparently continue until I’m flying to Düsseldorf on Wednesday, so I hopefully get the opportunity to get back in the swing of things before I travel.

Of course I could have posted shots from the archives, but at the moment I’m actually focussing on selecting pictures for printing rather than for posting. I think I needed a break anyway after all the shooting in November and December and all the editing in January and February. After four months of frantic daily work I deserved a bit of a break from photography. I used the opportunity to read and get inspired again.

Oh yes! I tend to get really depressed when it is too dark and rainy for a long time!
