autumn colours

The weather these days is largely too uninviting to be out and about shooting. It’s rainy, cold and just a little too dark for what I want to be shooting, so I don’t even take a camera with me when I leave the house in the morning. This week I only finished the roll I had in my Leica and I’m actually not planning to shoot any more until I’m travelling in a week. I’ll probably come back from that trip with plenty of stuff, so I don’t have to force myself to shoot in horrible weather like this.

And just as I thought that I’d be finishing with my Olympus XA shots I found another roll taken with the XA in my pile of C41 films to be developed. It was taken in autumn and somehow it slipped through the cracks with my previous batch of C41 chemicals. In any case, I probably have just enough C41 rolls lying around to exhaust this batch of C41 chemicals as well and there will be quite a number of colour rolls to come. Lots of opportunity to practice scanning colour film! Come to think of it, since I was curious I actually scanned a roll of CineStill today and I think it looks very promising. I’ll probably show you some of the shots tomorrow.

All pictures taken with: Olympus XA, F.Zuiko 35mm f/2.8.
Rossmann 400 developed in Tetenal C41 Kit.

We actually went hunting for red trees, because I wanted to have something other than green in these.

Well, more red.

I took a black and white shot of the roots on the same day.

Their puppy was either silly or suicidal …! They stopped him before he could hurt himself.

Did I mention that I really like little details like this? As close to a proper forest as one can get around here without a car.

Well, it’s really a park … bamboo in a forest around here would be strange.

This one was a bit more difficult to colour correct, but I think I managed in the end.

They seemed to be having fun despite the grey weather.
